Rovers midfielder Leighton Clarkson has been called into the England Under-20s squad for an upcoming encounter against Portugal.

The Liverpool loanee has been named in Andy Edwards' squad for the International Challenge Match against the Portuguese, which will take place at the Estadio Dr. Magalhaes Pessoa in Leiria on Thursday 11th November, kick-off 5pm.

The Blackburn-born starlet, who has so far appeared six times for Rovers since arriving on a season-long loan deal in the summer, will link up with the squad following tomorrow's home game against Sheffield United at Ewood Park.

He will return to England following the game in Portugal to prepare with the rest of the Rovers squad for the game at Bristol City on Saturday 20th November.
