Promising Rovers youngster Georgie Gent has today signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 18-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal, keeping him at Ewood Park until June 2025.
Gent joined Rovers as an Under-15 from Manchester City in 2019, signing a two-year scholarship with the club a year later.
A consistent and versatile performer for Rovers Under-18s, who are currently joint-second in the U18 Premier League table, having also reached the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup, Gent made his Under-23s debut in a 3-0 victory away to Arsenal in March 2021 and has made a further 11 Premier League 2 appearances for Mike Sheron’s side this season.
Capable of playing anywhere down the left side, Gent becomes the third Rovers scholar to sign a pro deal this term, following in the footsteps of Harry Leonard and Adam Wharton.
Congrats, Georgie!
