Tara Bourne believes Rovers is the best place for her to be for the remainder of the 2021-22 FA Women’s Championship season as she wants to keep developing in football.
The youngster joined Rovers on-loan from Manchester United for the second-half of the season and she is delighted to be here.
Bourne said: “I’m really happy to be joining Blackburn on loan.
“I just want to be somewhere I can develop and get minutes and I spoke to Gemma before, and she said as long as I show my class and work hard every week then I will get those minutes.
“I got some experience in this league during the first-half of the season so I want to take that into this challenge and push on and keep developing as much as I can.”
Four big months await Rovers as they aim to record their best ever Championship season and Bourne is hoping to play her part.
“We’re a team where we’re going to stay tight and keeping working hard together to get some wins,” she shared.
“It’s a really big second-half of a season for us and I can’t wait to get started in the league and see how much I can give for this team.”
The 18-year-old was excited to make her Rovers debut last Sunday as she started the side’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup tie.
Bourne said: “It was really good and really exciting to get the start.
“Durham away is a really tough first game but I thought we fought well as a team, and we improved so much in the second-half so we will take that into the next game.”
Bourne, who can operate in both defence and in midfield, linked up with Natasha Fenton in the second-half of last week’s game and she enjoyed playing alongside the long-time Rover.
“It’s always nice to be around players that are similar to you and players that really want to work hard and then you can understand and respect each other,” she explained.
“I thought we linked up well in that half and I enjoyed playing alongside her so hopefully there will be more to come.”
