Jon Dahl Tomasson has revealed that Joe Rankin-Costello has fully recovered to be in contention to feature against Norwich City in the Emirates FA Cup this weekend.

Having limped off with an injury in the win against Cardiff City last time out, there was concern that the 23-year-old could be out for a period of time.

However, a few days on from the victory over the Bluebirds, the right back has fully recovered and could well be a part of the squad for the journey to Carrow Road on Sunday.

There's also positive news on the rest of the injured players, none more so than Sam Barnes, who has been running again for the first time since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the summer.

“Joe’s fine," Tomasson told RoversTV. "He’s done a really good job and has been one of those players who was waiting for a chance.

“He’s grabbed that chance, helped by injured players, but he’s improved over the last month regarding what I want to see. He’s done a brilliant job.

“The development has been very positive from Joe.

“We still have Callum [Brittain] injured with his knee, [Jake] Batty’s out with his ankle and Sam is four-and-a-half months into his recovery.

“Sam ran a bit the other day. [Tyrhys] Dolan is on his way back but isn’t ready yet.

“Sammie [Szmodics] is not yet ready and we have a couple of sick players, we’ve had a bit of illness but I think these players could be ready by the end of the week.

“We’ve been stretched in recent weeks and I will rotate players and give opportunities to others to impress.

“We want to keep everyone on their toes and keep everyone up to speed."
