Harry Leonard’s happy to see the back of 2024 and is hopeful of good times ahead now the new year’s arrived.

An injury-hit year saw Leonard suffer with serious back and shoulder issues, which saw the striker restricted to just six games in 2024.

The frontman ended the year on a high note with his late equaliser in the Boxing Day draw against Sunderland at Ewood.

The 21-year-old still doesn’t hold the fondest memories from the year just gone, but he wants to make 2025 one to remember for all the right reasons.

“I feel really good after a tough year in 2024,” the forward said to RoversTV.

“I don’t want to look back too much and I feel like this year is a big one for me to really stake my claim.

“My body feels good, I’ve got a few more minutes recently and I feel it’s time to kick on now and really show what I’m about.

“Minutes are really important and I’ve spoken on a number of occasions about how I’ve had to be patient and not rush it.

“I’ve eased my way back in and haven’t taken too many risks on the road back to recovery. It’s behind me now and I want to play as many games as possible," he added.

“I’m at an age where I need to be playing football and as many games as possible.

“The injuries set me back, but now I’m fit I really do see it as an opportunity.”
